Case Studies
Securing supply of the patented Urotile™ range of polyurethane ceramic wear liners Multotec worked with both OEM suppliers and contract engineers for BHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth 5 Project during the 2009 year.
This locally designed and manufactured patented wear liner system has an extensive history in the Pilbara’s iron ore facilities, with use in both mine and port operations with all major Pilbara miners.
With constant consultation between the end user, designer and installers required at all times, the Urotile™ products were supplied with in schedule and all design tolerances and dimensions
The engineered Urotile™ systems were specified to enable the wear liner system to be utilised in transfer chutes and impact plate design to cater for moist fine ores as well as standard lump and fine DSO product. The tight design tolerances were required to reduce occurrences of product hang in these areas, while still providing extended wear life as characterised by these ceramic liners over traditional metallic systems in this environment.
Multotec are supplying similar polyurethane ceramic systems for other mineral operations in Eastern and Central Australian operations.
