For ‘sizing’ double drum (Primary-Secondary combination); use maximum pulp volume for feed rate to primary drum.
For best recovery on secondary drum reduce the pulp volume to that recommended for secondary duty – effluent overflow compartment on tank allows this.
Recovery efficiency at recommended ratings
Valid for typical magnetite size distribution:
95 to < 53 Microns
90% < 45 Microns
30% < 10 Microns
Primary Duty = 99.9% - Valid for up to 50% non-mags solids in feed.
Secondary Duty = 90%
Magnetite Concentrate Density
Magnetite Recovered at 2.3 r.d.
