Coal Payment and Control Sampling
Payment agreements for local and overseas markets are based on coal consignment analysis; so accurate coal sampling by the producer/seller is essential.
Multotec/Siebtechnik has a completed various sampling stations on a turnkey and guarantee basis in the local industry world wide. These plants adhere to all internationally recognised coal sampling standards. Stringent bias testing ensures sampling is representative in all aspects.
Applications
- Ship loading/offloading at sea ports.
- Train loading/offloading at import/export coal terminals.
- Export or captive collieries.
- Coal fired power stations/utilities.
- Bulk coal material handling facilities.
Features
- Hammer samplers are used to take primary sweep samples of moving conveyors.
- Multiple physical and chemical samples are collected over 2,8 or 24 hours.
- Turnstile dividers with adjustable and multiple sampling ports used for sample division.
- Rolls crushers used to size reduce coal to 95% - 6mm for the chemical sample.
- Separate producer, user and " referee" samples are provided as required.
- Large sample containers for coal size analysis available.
- Fully automatic electrical and PLC controls using with central plant interfacing capability using client specified electrical suppliers.
- All chutework and sample containers constructed os maintenance free 3CR12 stainless steel.
Benefits
- Relatively small primary sample increment size.
- Hence reduction in equipment/plant size for sample preparation.
- Less division steps required e.g. up to tertiary (not quarterly).
- Reduced associated capital costs.
- Final sample integrity now increased with less sample preparation steps.
- Can be used to calibrate on-line coal analysers.
Specifications
- Use of the reputable Siebtechnik (Germany) range of dry sampling equipment.
- plant design and sampling philosophy adheres to ISO 9411 and ISO 13909 coal sampling standards.
- Time or mass based sampling provided as per costumer requirements.
- Sampling coal from conveyed streams of up to 7000 t/ph and belt speeds pf 4 m/s or more.
- Bias testing conducted by independent laboratories ensure all samples are commercially bias free in terms of particle size, moisture content, ash content, CV, and other aspects as required.
