Trommel Frames

Multotec Australia’s unique trommel frames are rubber-lined steel units designed to provide maximum support by securing the modular panels on all four sides.

Modular polyurethane panels, each with their own internal frame, are secured to the trommel frame with pins and sleeves. The panels can incorporate various weir bar configurations that direct the flow of the pulp and prevent overflow, to suit any application.

Benefits of our trommel frames:

  • Rubber lined frame extends life

  • Vibratory and thermal stress relieved

  • Welds are NDT tested prior to rubber lining

  • Panel or bolt-down weir bar configurations

  • Different sized weir bars according to pulp volumes

  • Advance FEA designs

Our trommel frames allow direct drive through the discharge end of the trommel with a fixed speed electric motor or variable speed hydraulic, or pneumatic drive.

Designing steel frame for trommel screens

A number of parameters are considered when the steel trommel frame is designed:

  • A feed end flange is designed to be compatible will the mill or scrubber flange

  • The internal diameter of the feed end flange or feed end liners is designed to be the same
diameter as the mill discharge of mill discharge liners

  • The trommel feed end liners can also have a slightly larger diameter to create an outwards
step to compensate for wear of the mill discharge liners
